Padmesh's Story Ever since I was a little child, I always asked why I couldn’t do things that boys do. In my family, my father and two uncles are engineers and the other one is a lawyer, my grandfather was a librarian at AMU. In short, all-male members of my family are well-educated and well-settled while when it comes to my aunts, including my mom are housewives. Here I don’t mean that being a housewife is something less. But, being just a housewife was not at all my mom’s wish. But she was forced not to pursue her carrier after marriage. So, I’ll be the one who will be doing a job and will become independent on her own. I have had always a keen interest in mathematics and coding. In 7th class at the age of 12, I was introduced to HTML in school, which seemed to be quite interesting I could see the graphical output of whatever I coded, I started exploring more in HTML, I would take long hours sitting on my computer but this time not for games but for web development, which eventually fascinated me more towards coding. And thus, I chose to pursue B.Tech that too from CSE Branch. My foundation was laid then but the skills were built now. MY TECH EXPERIENCES: I am skilled in C/C++, HTML, CSS, JS, and Data Structures & Algorithms. I have also learned about DBMS, and OOPS in C++. • I have been selected as a contributor in many open source programs such as: •GirlScript Summer Of Code(GSSOC) conducted every summer by the Girlscript Foundation, •Timechain Summer of Code (TSOC) organized by Hack2skill o encourage and support the development of blockchain skills among students, •Social Summer of Code(SSOC) organized By Social which aims to promote open source with new-age technologies With constant efforts, I'll be contributing to numerous projects under the extreme guidance of skilled mentors over these months. • I am also the upcoming Web Development Intern in OctaNet this summer. • I also participated in some hackathons: •I participated in a hackathon organized by LeanIn BV × LeanIn IGDTUW in Mar’22 in which I worked on a website of Menstrual Cycle Tracker using C++, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and some more tools and got selected in 𝗧𝗢𝗣 𝟮𝟬 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟴𝟴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀. • A 2-day online Smart cities hackathon "Smart-O-Hack" was organized by Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology(MAIT) in collaboration with Netaji Subash University of Technology (NSUT) under the flagship of IEEE Smart Cities. Our team got selected in the 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟱 teams out of 100+ submissions. Please visit my LinkedIn Profile for certifications of above and more achievements: https://www.linkedin.com/in/padmesh-sharma/

🙋‍♀️ Padmesh's Motivation

Attending SheCodes Foundation holds importance to me as it will provide an excellent opportunity to converse with other brilliant women in this field. It will help me to expand my network as a scholar with women recruiters, and professionals working in multinational companies, along with gaining exposure to professional tools, processes, and approaches. Meeting inspirational personalities at SheCodes can be an asset to my career. In this patriarchal society, I aspire to be a woman who is self-reliant, committed to her work, and uplifts other women too. My accomplishments will set an example of a breakthrough for all the junior people I meet. If selected as a scholar, I would avidly encourage my peers to apply for SheCodes Foundation. I plan to make presentations for my department and write about my experience on my social media profiles and in my blogs. The greatest aspect ofSheCodes is that it provides trailblazing exposure to women in tech. Even today, the number of women in tech is quite lean. I look forward to changing this and encouraging women near me to explore the world of computer sciences, careers, and jobs, and I'm certain that SheCodes is the perfect platform to learn about this. Just like I had heard from seniors, I want my juniors to be aware of this scope. Furthermore, I would like to add that I honestly admire all the work that is being done by the SheCodes Foundation. I feel identified with the sisterhood's philosophy and would be honored to contribute to the effort of spreading the word about the importance of women in computing and working on the creation of more opportunities for women all around the globe.

🤹‍♀️ Padmesh's Hobbies

When I'm free, I usually love spending time with my family and friends and ofc my pet dog, cooky. Other than this, I love to watch Pakistani dramas, I could finish a whole drama with approx 30-40 episodes each of 40 minutes straightaway in a day. When I'm in my hometown, I usually take out at least half an hour daily and practice enhancing my basic life skills like cooking, sewing, driving, and much more. The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
