Paola's Story I think I always had an admiration towards engineering and solving problems. I first became interested in coding around the ".com" bubble. I was finishing High school (2007), and I had the opportunity to see how a site was developed using Macromedia Flash and it woke my curiosity. Since then, I took upon myself the goal of learning how to code through online courses. I came across WordPress and Joomla, which helped me offer website design services to support myself. Eventually, years passed and through perseverance and dedication, I have been able to secure full-time employment with a reputable software development company.

My goal is to serve my community, and women interested in software development positions, as a mentor and role model. Being certified will allow me to provide quality code and the knowledge to be a líder in my position.

I like to play chess. I consider myself a life-long learner, so I usually am enrolled in courses online to learn new skills. Currently, I like to learn about electricity and circuits to fix home appliances.

Paola's coding training

Paola has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
