Patience 's Story I first become interested in coding in my high school years. One of my teachers introduces me to basic HTML and CSS , and l was fascinated by how I could create something visually appealing with just a few lines of codes. I started exploring different programming languages, such as python and Java, and realised the endless possibilities that coding offered. As l delved deeper into the World of coding , l discovered how it can be used to solve real-world problems and create innovative solutions. I was particularly drawn to the idea of using technology to bridge the gap between different communities and improve access to education, healthcare,and other basic needs . Furthermore,l see coding as an essential skill in the 21st century.It opens up many opportunities for career growth, entrepreneurship,and personal development.By learning to code ,l believe that l can contribute to Rwanda's tech industry,which is rapidly growing and creating many job opportunities.

As a 20-year-old Rwandan girl, I am excited to apply to the sheCodes program because I have a strong motivation to learn how to code. Firstly, l believe that learning to code is essential in today's world, where technology is playing an incredibly important role in all aspects of our lives. By learning how to code, l can open up many opportunities for myself, including a potential career in the tech industry. I am also interested in using my coding skills to solve real-world problems and make a positive impact on society. Furthermore, as a young girl in Rwanda , l am aware of gender disparities that exist in the field of technology. The sheCodes program offers a unique opportunity for me to join a community of like-minded girls who are also interested in learning how to code by participating in this program, l can gain confidence and increase my abilities.

Patience 's coding training

Patience has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
