PAULINE's Story My interest in coding began when I realized that the questions I was most curious about like understanding patterns in everyday life or making sense of complex information could actually be answered through data analysis. I remember being fascinated by how YouTube could predict what music I'd like or how researchers could track disease outbreaks through data visualization. This sparked my curiosity about what was happening "behind the scenes," and I discovered that coding, particularly Python, was the key to unlocking these insights. I started with basic tutorials and was immediately hooked by the logical problem solving nature of programming and the satisfaction of seeing code transform raw data into meaningful patterns and visualizations. What truly solidified my interest was realizing that coding isn't just about writing commands it's a powerful tool for asking better questions, testing hypotheses, and ultimately making data-driven decisions that can impact real world problems. This revelation made me determined to advance my skills beyond beginner level and pursue data science as a career path.

🙋‍♀️ PAULINE's Motivation

My motivation for learning to code with SheCodes stems from my aspiration to become a data scientist and my belief that structured, community-driven learning will accelerate my Python journey beyond the basics I've already started. While I have foundational Python knowledge, I need to master advanced concepts like data manipulation, statistical analysis, machine learning, and visualization techniques that are essential for professional data science work. SheCodes appeals to me because of its hands-on, project-based approach and supportive community of women breaking barriers in tech, an environment where I can build both technical expertise and confidence. I'm particularly drawn to data science because it combines my analytical mindset with the potential for social impact, whether that's uncovering insights in healthcare, environmental data, or addressing algorithmic bias. Through SheCodes, I want to transform my curiosity about data patterns into the advanced coding skills needed to extract meaningful insights and contribute to positive change through technology.

🤹‍♀️ PAULINE's Hobbies

I'm passionate about music, which provides both emotional outlet and mental stimulation. Reading novels is another favorite pastime that feeds my imagination and helps me develop critical thinking skills; I enjoy getting lost in different worlds and perspectives. When I need to boost my energy and connect with others, I love watching handball games on the field there's something incredibly energizing about the fast-paced action, team strategy, and live atmosphere that gets my adrenaline pumping.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
