Phindile's Story I first became interested in coding when I joined the FNB App Academy. Before that, I had heard about coding but never really understood how it works or how I could get into it. The program gave me my first real exposure to building digital solutions and understanding how apps and websites are created. Through the academy, I started learning the basics and realized that coding is not just for experts, it’s a skill you can develop with practice and the right guidance. It shifted my mindset from seeing technology as something I just use to something I can actually create. That experience sparked my interest because I could see how coding connects to real opportunities. It made me want to go deeper, improve my skills, and eventually use them to build my own projects and create income-generating platforms.

🙋‍♀️ Phindile's Motivation

I want to learn how to code with SheCodes because I see it as a practical way to build real opportunities for myself. I’m not just interested in theory, I want to create things that people can actually use, like websites, tools, and digital products that can generate income. I also like that coding gives me independence. Instead of relying only on traditional job paths, I can build my own projects, improve my problem-solving skills, and even work remotely or freelance. That flexibility matters to me.

🤹‍♀️ Phindile's Hobbies

I enjoy activities that are both creative and help me grow. In my free time, I like exploring digital projects, such as building simple websites and learning new coding skills. I also enjoy creating content, especially around business and beauty, because it allows me to express ideas and connect with people. Outside of that, I like reading and learning about personal development and financial literacy, as I’m always looking for ways to improve myself and build better opportunities for the future. I also enjoy spending time on social media, not just for entertainment, but to learn trends and find inspiration for new ideas.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
