Portia's Story I first became interested in coding through my growing interest in technology and software development. I started exploring online courses and learning about how applications and websites are built, which made me curious about what happens behind the scenes. As I learned more, I became excited by the idea of being able to turn my own ideas into working solutions through code. This motivated me to continue learning and pursue a career in technology.

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes is to strengthen my software development skills and gain practical experience that will help me build a career in technology. I am especially interested in backend development, cloud computing, and creating solutions that can solve real-world problems. I believe SheCodes will give me the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment, work on practical projects, and grow my confidence as a developer. Ultimately, I want to use the skills I gain to create useful technology and open more opportunities for myself in the tech industry.

In my free time, I enjoy learning new technology skills, exploring coding and building projects, and attending tech events. I also enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. I like activities that allow me to be creative, learn something new, and grow both personally and professionally.

Portia's coding training

Portia has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

📦 Foundation students get access to these coding workshops:
1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
