Princess's Story My interest in coding began during my undergraduate studies. At the time, I was taking a course on process control, which involved programming logic controllers (PLCs) to control chemical processes. I found this aspect of the course particularly fascinating and enjoyed the challenge of writing code to optimize the performance of the process. From there, I began to explore other areas of programming, such as data analysis and visualization. I discovered that programming could be used to analyze large amounts of data quickly and efficiently, which is a crucial skill in chemical engineering. I also became interested in the potential applications of programming in other areas, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. As I continued to learn more about coding, I found that it offered a unique combination of creative problem-solving and technical skill. I enjoyed the challenge of breaking down complex problems into smaller, more manageable parts and then using programming to solve each piece. I also appreciated the flexibility that coding offered, as it allowed me to experiment with different solutions until I found the most effective one. Overall, my interest in coding grew out of my experiences in the field of chemical engineering and my desire to learn new skills that could help me excel in my career. I continue to be fascinated by the possibilities of programming and look forward to exploring this field further in the future.

As a young chemical engineering graduate, my motivation for learning how to code stems from a few key factors. Firstly, I recognize that the world we live in is becoming increasingly digital and technology-driven. Being able to code is a valuable skill that can open up new opportunities in a variety of industries, including chemical engineering. In fact, many chemical engineering companies are now incorporating programming into their operations to improve efficiency and optimize processes. Additionally, I believe that learning how to code will give me a competitive edge in the job market. As a recent graduate, I am aware of the highly competitive nature of the job market and the need to constantly improve my skills to stay relevant. By learning how to code, I can differentiate myself from other chemical engineering graduates and stand out to potential employers. Furthermore, coding is a fascinating and intellectually stimulating activity. It challenges me to think creatively and analytically, and offers a sense of satisfaction when I successfully solve a problem or create something new. I also believe that learning how to code will enhance my problem-solving skills and make me a better engineer overall. Overall, my motivation for learning how to code is multifaceted. It offers new career opportunities, a competitive advantage in the job market, and an intellectually stimulating challenge that will help me develop my problem-solving skills.

Princess has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
