Promise's Story I first became interested in coding when I realized how much technology shapes our daily lives—from the apps we use to communicate to the websites we rely on for information. It sparked something in me to want to understand how it all works, not just as a user but as someone who could create and build. I’ve always enjoyed solving problems and learning new things, and coding felt like the perfect mix of creativity and logic. Even though I come from a non-technical background, the idea of learning to code felt empowering—like a way to open new doors and create better opportunities for myself.

I’ve wanted to learn how to code for a long time, but financial limitations have always stood in the way. What draws me to SheCodes is not just the chance to gain practical skills, but also the supportive environment for beginners like me. I’m ready to put in the hard work—I just need someone to take a chance on me so I can turn this dream into something real.

As a young woman, I enjoy spending my free time doing things that keep me inspired and connected. I love cooking—trying out new recipes or putting my own twist on traditional dishes is both fun and relaxing for me. I also enjoy reading, especially fiction and personal growth books, as they allow me to escape, learn, and reflect. Socialising with friends and meeting new people is something I truly enjoy—it helps me recharge and stay balanced. Whether it’s a quiet night with a good book or hosting a dinner with loved ones, I find joy in both the simple and meaningful moments.

Promise's coding training

Promise has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

📦 Foundation students get access to these coding workshops:
1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
