Samantha's Story When I was in high school I wanted to take IT as a subject but my school didn't have IT only Computer Applications technology and my teacher was always encouraging us to do coding,to create new things to improve life or even just take something and improve it. Also, I have been struggling to get my birth certificate for years as home affairs we're almost always down when we go and we couldn't go daily as none of my parents work so due that I was unable to do most things which I personally would have loved to do. I would like to improve things so that other people won't have to go through what me and my sister's had to.

🙋‍♀️ Samantha's Motivation

My motivation for learning how to code is to be able to have a career in coding(financially support my family) and also to be able to teach my family new things I've learnt, me and my sister's are very close and we always showing each other what we've learnt.

🤹‍♀️ Samantha's Hobbies

I used to do alot in school, volleyball, paceball, ballet and cross-country and I was great but due to no birth certificate I couldn't take any of them further. Also I live in a area where people are killed almost daily and because of that I either have to stay indoors and play board games or go somewhere further which is the soccer field and kick around with my sisters.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
