Seiko's Story My interest in coding first sparked from my fascination with technological advancements and an innate curiosity about how things work. I've always been intrigued by the rapid pace at which technology evolves and its profound impact on nearly every aspect of our lives. This curiosity naturally led to a desire to not just observe, but to actively participate in this technological evolution. I realized that to truly move with the times and remain relevant in a world increasingly shaped by digital innovation, I needed to understand the language of technology. It's about more than just keeping up; it's about being able to comprehend, contribute to, and even anticipate the next big wave of change. Coding will allow me to not only grasp new concepts but also to build, create, and adapt in this dynamic landscape.

🙋‍♀️ Seiko's Motivation

My motivation for learning how to code is multifaceted, driven by a desire for continuous growth and to stay at the forefront of innovation. In a rapidly evolving technological landscape, understanding code allows me to be "in the know" of new advancements, rather than just a passive observer. Specifically, I'm keen to explore how I can combine my career in finance with coding. The financial industry is increasingly reliant on technology. By learning to code, I can develop a deeper understanding of these systems, identify inefficiencies, and potentially build innovative solutions. This is crucial for keeping up with the times and ensuring my skills remain relevant and competitive. Furthermore, coding represents a significant avenue for professional development. It cultivates problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and an ability to break down complex challenges into manageable steps – all highly valuable in any professional setting. Finally, and importantly, there's a genuine interest that fuels this journey. The process of building something from scratch, seeing an idea come to life through code, and the endless possibilities it presents are incredibly engaging and intellectually stimulating.

🤹‍♀️ Seiko's Hobbies

I have a diverse range of hobbies that keep me engaged and fulfilled. I'm a big believer in the power of creating and designing; there's a unique satisfaction that comes from bringing an idea to life, whether it's through a creative design, or even just arranging a space. This creative drive also extends to my love for solving problems. I also have a strong appreciation for culture and experiences. I love to travel, exploring new places and immersing myself in different environments and perspectives. When I'm looking for entertainment, you'll often find me enjoying sports, whether it's playing, watching a game, or just staying active. Ultimately, my downtime is often centered around the people who matter most. Spending quality time with family and friends is important to me, creating lasting memories and enjoying simple moments together.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
