Shamimeh's Story My first encounter with "coding" and its concept was when I was a middle school student. ( I guess I was 13. ) It started with QBasic and Visual Basic. I just thought it was fun and didn't look at it as an "I want to do it for the rest of my life!" kind. A year later, I got to know the basics of the C language in my Robotic Classes, and I was around the age of 17 when we had to work with HTML in school. Somewhere between my first encounter with C and Html, I knew I wanted to work with computers and codes.

🙋‍♀️ Shamimeh's Motivation

I need to get better at coding and learn how to use coding as a professional because right now, I don't think I know enough as a person who is about to graduate from computer science (bachelor's degree). I've tried different courses, in my first language, with different teachers online, but none of them made me feel like I know enough to actually work as a programmer. When I read about SheCodes Program, I figured I should apply, since the description told me it's going to teach me exactly what I want to know.

🤹‍♀️ Shamimeh's Hobbies

I'm quite a bookworm. I enjoy reading in my free time. Sometimes I write short stories. But most of my free time is filled with reading books and making pieces of jewelry. I even have a little online shop with what I make. (you can check it out on Instagram: @gavazne_abi ) Since the start of the corona, I learned how to make clothes, and sometimes my weekends are full of fabrics and needles, and me spending time behind a sewing machine.

Shamimeh's coding training
