Sisanda's Story I first became interested in coding when I was in Grade 5 in 2016. I was introduced into IT by a teacher who used to see that o wasn’t interested in the careers that were mostly mentioned in my class, like Teacher, Doctor, Police, etc. As soon as I was introduced to the world of IT, it was like there was fire burning inside of me. I was thrilled, I knew from then, that I will be persuing a career in Tech. As I grew up and got to research more about IT, I was then introduced to coding and from then on, I’ve always been interested.

🙋‍♀️ Sisanda's Motivation

As a 1st year IT student, I’m bound to cross paths with coding. But that’s it entirely the reason why I’m motivated to learn how to code with SheCodes. The reason is that I want to be more equipped with these skills even before they introduce them to us at school.

🤹‍♀️ Sisanda's Hobbies

This might be an odd hobbie but I do Karate for fun, and when I’m not at the Dojo or at school, then I’m playing chess. Other than that, I’m a writer and also an avid reader.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
