Sophia's Story My first interest in coding started in secondary school but it increased when I went to visit a family friend for vocation. The children of the people I stayed with were into tech; graphic design, web design/ development and the likes. From the vague knowledge I got from computer science I was able to tell what they were doing even though I didn't know how they were doing it. I showed interest to learn but they were not willing to teach me and they hid their laptops from me. That single act of theirs provoked me and I promised myself I'll go into tech too. I'll learn coding, I'll be a programmer, I'll solve problems too.

🙋‍♀️ Sophia's Motivation

I'm currently studying electrical/electronics engineering and I'll need this knowledge to thrive better in my field of career as every electronic device to be produced is built on codes and programs. Also, I want to be able to solve technological problems using my skills.

🤹‍♀️ Sophia's Hobbies

I love playing computer games, I love music, and I'm a lover of books as well.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
