Surmai's Story In early 2018, one of my aunts who resided in the US paid us a visit in India and gifted me a 'Google home'. As a 12 year old I was fascinated by it and used it all the time. In next few years i researched more about its working and was thus introduced to the immense world of coding and A.I . I am now motivated to create something impactful using programming

🙋‍♀️ Surmai's Motivation

As women of colour residing in a fairly patriarchal society, I find coding as a highly empowering tool to stand up on my feet and help other less previliged females to do so. I also want to prove that women can excel in stem related fields.

🤹‍♀️ Surmai's Hobbies

I am an avid reader and love to read pyschological thrillers in my free time. I used to be a national level skater and still actively pursue competitive sports. Apart from that I like to cook and write about social issues pertaining to my country and my perception of them in my diary.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
