Svitlana's Story Firstly I started to be interested in programming about 10 years ago. I studied HTML layout, tried to create CSS table templates. At that time I did not have enough time and motivation to develop it further. Some time ago, I tried to create sql queries to the database and I was good at it. Of course, they are simple, but it was interesting to get the expected data on a test environment. So I would like to systematically develop my programming skills by taking a course that I've read a lot of good reviews about.

🙋‍♀️ Svitlana's Motivation

My motivation to learn to program consists of several points: 1. The possibility to work not with a ready-made product, but to create something new, which, perhaps, will help someone to solve everyday problems, or something more global, which will help not only individual people, but also the society. Many of the projects that started with a relatively primitive code and were highly specialized are now used by us, and combine messengers, marketplaces, news pages, and interactive places for everyone to spend their free time and leisure time every day. 2. Opportunity to improve your skills and, as a consequence, to get a promising job and increase your income. 3. The possibility of self-realization in a new profession 4 Finally, the motivation for enrolling myself in the SheCodes course was the active participation of the company in the social life of my country. This is more than just access to courses for 10,000 Ukrainians. This is the opportunity for women from Ukraine to find a job after graduation, earn money, and pay taxes, thereby sponsoring the government, which has the primary goal of ending the war, for which it requires finances in the form of taxes.

🤹‍♀️ Svitlana's Hobbies

I have a lot of hobbies. First of all, I love to travel. I traveled all over Ukraine with my family by car. It is a beautiful country with many natural and historical sights. Our country combines the beauty of mountains in the west, seascapes in the south, beautiful fields in the east, forests and lakes in the north. On every trip, even to familiar places, you find amazing places you haven't visited before. I love to read. I read a lot or listen to audio books. This is both fiction and special literature on my profession I like to play the piano. It has always helped me achieve mental equilibrium, even if I am tired or upset about something. I like to go to the gym and ride a bike. Going to the gym always makes me feel pleasantly tired but in a good mood. I like taking pictures. I have a lot of beautiful pictures from my trips.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
