Tariro's Story I first became interested in grade 8.When a career guidance program came to my school promoting women in STEM and I had been chosen to be the audience. I am interested in learning because I would like to become a software engineer.. And take my life to places I never dreamed of.

🙋‍♀️ Tariro's Motivation

I have always wanted to code since I learnt about it in grade 8 through a career guidance program and I have been doing research about coding and have honestly fallen in love with it. I have always wanted to be a young female in the tech world. And I believe I can do so with she Codes. I have seen the amazing results that she codes has produced through other females and as a 17 year old grade 12 student I know that is is the path I want and need to take to create a better life for myself and my brother. I use a prosthetic leg since birth I was born without the rest of my left leg I am able to walk and I have deformed fingers I have always made it my mission to do what others can do and not letting my disability stop me from making a life for myself I have never used it as an excuse when I fail this has helped me reach heights i never thought where possible I am now completing my final year of high school and I would like to be a software engineer.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
