Tebogo's Story I first became interested in coding when I started my IT journey in 2023. That year, I got a learnership at Capenesis, where I was introduced to the world of technology and coding. During the learnership, I learned about the basics of IT, and it made me realize how powerful coding is. I enjoyed learning how websites and software are built, and I knew I wanted to learn even more. In 2024, I took the next step and enrolled at a university to study IT. Being a university student has helped me build a stronger foundation, but I also realized that universities don’t always teach everything we need to know for real-world work. That made me even more motivated to keep learning outside of class. Coding interests me because it is creative and logical at the same time. I like solving problems and finding new ways to create things with technology. Every time I learn something new, I feel more confident and excited about my future in the tech industry. Starting my journey with Capenesis and continuing at university showed me that coding is something I am passionate about and want to build my career around.

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes is because I am an IT student at university. I believe that joining SheCodes will help me learn more because universities do not teach everything. There are many skills, especially practical coding skills, that I need to learn on my own. SheCodes can give me extra knowledge and real-world experience that will make me a better developer. As a student, I know it is important to keep learning outside of the classroom. By learning coding with SheCodes, I can build my skills, work on projects, and become more confident in my abilities. This experience will also make my resume stronger and help me when I apply for jobs or internships. I also enjoy solving problems and creating new things. Coding is a way to turn my ideas into real projects. Even though coding can sometimes feel difficult, I know that with SheCodes' step-by-step lessons, I will be able to learn in a simple and fun way. Finally, I am excited to connect with other women who are learning too. It will be a great opportunity to grow, share ideas, and support each other. I am ready to learn and achieve my goals with SheCodes.

I love reading to relax and learn, taking walks to clear my mind, and spending time with friends and family because they bring joy and support. I also enjoy learning new things and gaining knowledge from others. Listening to music is another passion, as it lifts my mood and helps me relax.

Tebogo's coding training

Tebogo has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

📦 Foundation students get access to these coding workshops:
1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
