Tendai 's Story Coding skills have become a growing necessity within the contemporary society. I appreciate opportunities coding competencies offer, for instance, independent development of applications in response to personal and market needs and, also, employment opportunities. My interest has a research and social entrepreneurship orientation. From algorithm forecasting, creating personalised blogs and, as relates to my current studies, understanding digital communities and conversations they share, the opportunities are limitless. I wish to have this skill set as it is relevant, responsive, complementary to my current studies, growth trajectories and community developmental needs.

🙋‍♀️ Tendai 's Motivation

The motivation is drawn from my ongoing doctoral studies which employ a computational social sciences approach. The research explores how international events and localised disasters impact climate change debates in the case countries of Zimbabwe and South Africa. Conversations for the study are drawn from COP 26 and 27 as well as Cyclone Idai of 2019 for Zimbabwe and KwaZulu Natal floods of 2022 for South Africa. This is with a view to delineate the communicative contexts respectively. This training opportunity offers foundational steps not only for my immediate research interests but aspirations as a social entrepreneur. I would like to become part of the global community using digital technologies to enhance human livelihoods within their communities.

I enjoy chess, it encourages my strategic thinking. I love flower gardening and find it therapeutic. I also enjoy creative writing. It unpacks life-realities and fantasies in a manner that is relatable to a larger audience.

Tendai 's coding training

Tendai has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
