Thị Lan Phuong's Story I believe that it all starts with my parents. Neither my father nor my mother works in the technology industry. However, they didn’t really forbid me to use their computers when they were not working when I was young. Of course, I was not allowed to have my eyes glued to the computer screen, but compared to other kids in my neighborhood, I was introduced to computing quite early. Furthermore, I love reading, so through books about coding, or people who succeed in coding, I started to want to learn how to code.

🙋‍♀️ Thị Lan Phuong's Motivation

There are three main reasons why I want to learn how to code with SheCodes. Firstly, I have always been interested in programming languages, so knowing more about how they work, and having the chance to create some products from scratch sounds very amazing to me. As a result, I believe SheCodes could help me study coding better, and enrich my knowledge about programming languages. Secondly, I am pursuing a data analyst career, but in my university, I don’t really get to learn much about coding, which I think is very important in data analytics. Therefore, I really want to self-study this, and it would be great if there’s a suitable course for me to follow. Thirdly, I realize that if I can code, not only can I create programs, apps, databases... on my own, but I could also understand deeper about errors in digital devices around me, such as computers, smartphones... This would allow me to fix and use them more efficiently.

In my free time, I like reading books, participating in some free online courses about topics which I find interesting, or playing a Vietnamese traditional musical instrument - “Dan Tranh”. I also enjoy spending time with my siblings and my pets.
