Toyosi's Story I first became interested in coding when some of my friends started talking about it. They were learning how to build websites and work with data, and I was really inspired by how excited they were and how many opportunities coding was opening up for them. As I listened to their experiences, I realized that coding is a powerful skill especially for someone like me who wants to become a data scientist. That conversation sparked my curiosity, and I started looking into how I could get started myself. That’s what led me to SheCodes and my journey into the world of tech.

My motivation for learning how to code with SheCodes is to build a strong foundation in programming as I work toward becoming a data scientist. I’m passionate about using data to solve real world problems, uncover insights, and support better decision making. Coding is a critical skill in data science, and I chose SheCodes because of its hands on, supportive learning environment that makes technical concepts more approachable. By learning how to code, I’m taking the first step toward mastering tools like Python, data analysis, and machine learning. This experience will help me gain the confidence and skills I need to pursue my goal of working in the data science field.

Outside of coding, I enjoy watching tech and science videos because they keep me updated on the latest innovations and inspire me with new ideas. I also volunteer regularly, which I find really rewarding it helps me connect with others and contribute to my community. Both activities complement my passion for learning and problem-solving, which are important as I work toward becoming a data scientist.

Toyosi's coding training

Toyosi has gained access to SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics at no cost. Together they are a 6 week coding training that’ll take her from a complete beginner to building her first websites and AI projects.

She'll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus how to build with AI and modern development tools. She'll also get to build her own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

📦 Foundation students get access to these coding workshops:
1. SheCodes Basics (3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (3 weeks)
She’ll gain access to each portion after finishing the preceding portion. She’ll build up her coding knowledge gradually along the way. 🙌
