Unathi's Story My friend from uni chose an introductory course to coding and she was engaged in several programming projects that really appealed to me. I would attend lectures with me, although it was not my major to gain foundational knowledge in tech. I also appreciated the new wave of women in tech and how they tackle cybersecurity, develop software, or help make systems in place user friendly because it meant that the world of tech was no longer exclusive to a certain demographic. Plus, I really liked the idea of being able to code like those pretty girlies in the movies. It took beauty and brains to a new level.

🙋‍♀️ Unathi's Motivation

In the digital age, its become more important to cultivate tech skills, alongside the conventional job skills to become a well-rounded candidate for the job market. Its also empowering to connect with other women in tech, and to collaborate in bringing about professional growth in our community.

🤹‍♀️ Unathi's Hobbies

I love to sketch, albeit not well and paint. I am also interested in writing and reading short stories. I have also started baking in the Pandemic, and I enjoy a good cinammon roll or two. I also love plants, and I would love to garden as an official hobby. Can Pinterest also be a hobby, because I do enjoy it as well?

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
