Yaone 's Story My introduction to coding began in secondary school through my ICT class, which quickly became one of my favorite subjects, earning me a distinction. I’ve always found coding cool and intriguing. Despite choosing a career in Forensics due to my passion for science, I never let go of my dream of entering the tech field, specifically as a software developer. My interest in learning coding is driven by my love for analytical thinking and the satisfaction of solving complex problems and understanding intricate systems.

🙋‍♀️ Yaone 's Motivation

I have noticed how the world is rapidly growing into the tech industry, and I am inspired by seeing more and more women transforming this traditionally male-dominated field into a women's playfield. In the current economy, having a degree that does not allow for a global job search is challenging, as I am currently. When I heard about this opportunity with SheCodes, I felt it would be a disservice not to take it. This program offers me the chance to step into a whole new career, finally tap into my love for computers, and join the many women thriving in tech.

🤹‍♀️ Yaone 's Hobbies

My hobbies are quite diverse, as I love to learn new things and constantly find ways to occupy my time. Reading is a big part of who I am, and I enjoy fiction from all genres, particularly romance and thrillers, and I occasionally love a book that can make me cry. I also enjoy watching TV shows and movies. Writing short stories is another passion of mine, both for fun and, more recently, for competitions. In my free time, I like to learn new skills, such as crocheting and coding, which I am currently exploring.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
