Zahirah's Story My father spoke to me about it once when I was 10 but I just brushed it off because I was not interested. Fast forward to when I was 13 and I watched a documentary about coding and it was so fascinating the number of things you could do with a knowledge in coding that I made up my mind to learn how to code no matter what it took.

🙋‍♀️ Zahirah's Motivation

My motivation for learning how to code is the way the world is moving. We are moving into an era where artificial intelligence rules the world. It is also the way women are treated in many parts of the world that motivates me to be one of the many women to stand up to change the narrative on women because we can be anything we choose to be and I choose to make a positive difference. I also want to improve my analytical thinking and create career opportunities for me.

🤹‍♀️ Zahirah's Hobbies

I like to read, cook and learn new things. I also soliloquize for fun.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
