Zoë's Story I first found an interest in coding as a teenager and taught myself some HTML and CSS through free online courses. I don't remember specifically how I first had the idea to learn, but my interest was probably due to YouTube videos on interesting computer science topics which I enjoyed watching and my father who works coding.

🙋‍♀️ Zoë's Motivation

My motivation for learning to code with SheCodes is to get work coding. I have been trying to teach myself coding through free online resources and while I am making some progress, I would love to take a SheCodes course to help me achieve this goal.

🤹‍♀️ Zoë's Hobbies

I enjoy learning languages, sewing and video games. I am learning Japanese and Korean on my own and would like to study more languages in future. I like sewing because I can customize and design something to suit me exactly. I also enjoy playing video games to relax and my interest in coding has given me a new appreciation for my favourites.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.
