The SheCodes Foundation will teach 1,000 Malawian Women to code for free through SheCodes Workshops.

It is estimated that only 15% of all girls in Malawi reach secondary school, with high levels of poverty and social pressures leading them to prioritise manual labor and marriage before education. As a result, very few women receive further education and manage to succeed in STEM-related fields, with the digital and tech sectors dominated by men.

The SheCodes Foundation supports the rights of women in Malawi to work and be educated. We offer free coding classes to Malawian women to help them develop valuable skills and find professional success.

Who Can Join the SheCodes Foundation?

In order to be approved to join a workshop through the SheCodes Foundation, you must fulfill the following requirements.

The SheCodes Foundation is accepting women who:

Reside in the countries listed here

Have access to a computer and internet

Have faced financial difficulties

Are motivated to learn how to code

Complete the application process

Are approved by the SheCodes Foundation Team

If you do not fulfill these requirements, but are facing financial hardship, then you can apply for a discount to join SheCodes Workshops.

What is SheCodes Basics, SheCodes AI Basics and SheCodes Next?

SheCodes Basics, SheCodes AI Basics and SheCodes Next together are a complete coding and career training that’ll take you from a complete beginner to building your first websites, AI projects, and preparing for your first tech job.

You’ll learn the foundations of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, how to build with AI and modern development tools, and how to land a job in tech. You’ll also get to build your own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!

📦 Foundation students get access to these SheCodes workshops:
1. SheCodes Basics (coding, 3 weeks)
2. SheCodes AI Basics (AI, 3 weeks)
3. SheCodes Next (career)

Please note that you’ll gain access to each portion only after graduating from the preceding portion. You’ll build up your coding knowledge gradually along the way.

The SheCodes Foundation Mission

Women hold only 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less than men. In many developing countries, over 65% of women lack bank accounts, making it difficult to invest in their education.

The SheCodes Foundation is changing that. We provide women in developing countries with free coding education, equipping them with the skills to build a better future. In partnership with SheCodes, we offer training in product development, design, and management, empowering women to thrive in the tech industry.

Hi everyone,

I’m Matt, CEO at SheCodes.

I’m excited to present this project we've been thinking about since starting SheCodes.

The aim is to offer SheCodes workshops at no cost to women living in select developing countries who are facing serious financial and educational challenges.

When I started SheCodes, it was a non-profit. During our past onsite workshops, I always mentioned that my ultimate goal for SheCodes was to open a school providing free education. I’m happy to turn this initial idea into a reality.

This is the beginning of something that will hopefully have an impact on many women.

The Foundation will be financed entirely by SheCodes Workshops. For every SheCodes Workshop purchased, we will offer SheCodes Basics and SheCodes AI Basics to a woman in a developing country. If you want to contribute, simply purchase a SheCodes Workshop for yourself, a friend, or a family member.

SheCodes will remain paid, yet affordable in developed countries so we can keep offering quality training while expanding globally.

The Delac Foundation is financed by SheCodes workshops.

No, you won’t have to pay anything! Delac Foundation applicants who are accepted to join the workshops will gain access to all of the workshops for free.

If you are a refugee or a woman residing in one of the countries above, you're welcome to fill in an application. If your application is approved, then you will be able to join.

You can apply using the application link on the website.

After you fill in your application, it will be reviewed by the SheCodes team and assessed based on your situation and your motivation.

Through the Delac Foundation, you will learn everything that SheCodes has to offer, from HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to React, Responsive development, and development tools. You’ll gain access to the workshop materials gradually.
