It’s our goal to teach 1,000 Ugandan Women how to code
SheCodes will teach 1,000 Ugandan Women to code for free through the SheCodes Foundation.
Education is free in Uganda but school supplies and transportation aren't. This means many families living in poverty have to choose which children to send to school and often prioritize boys. Due to this, around 4 in 5 Ugandan girls do not attend high school, lessening their career opportunities later in life.
The SheCodes Foundation is committed to giving women in Uganda valuable coding skills and offers courses at no cost to Ugandan women. Apply today to get started!
If you are an Ugandan women residing in Uganda, you can apply to learn how to code with SheCodes Workshops free of cost through the SheCodes Foundation. After you complete an application, the team will review it as soon as possible.

I am grateful that the SheCodes Foundation offered me a scholarship, which has allowed me to pursue my passion for coding. To expand my chances in this rapidly evolving technology industry, I have acquired knowledge and skills that I can build on. It feels quite empowering to have mastered the fundamentals of coding, and I am very proud of myself for being able to do it. I urge other women to get on board, free up some time, and gain a little more self-assurance by picking up a couple of coding skills. Joining the SheCodes community was a decision I don't regret.
Thank you very much SheCodes🤗
The SheCodes Basics workshop is very well structured for beginners. Instructor Matt does an excellent job of guiding you through every lesson. There is nothing more fulfilling than writing code that works and contains zero errors!!
Would 💯 recommend it! Now, onto the next challenge!💃💃💃💃💃
I have loved the she codes basics workshop. It has been very interactive. I cannot believe how much I have learned with just this short 3 weeks course. I look forward to learning more through the other workshops.

SheCodes Pro is a 6 month coding training that’ll take you from a beginner to a professional.
You’ll also get to build your own online portfolio to showcase to potential employers!
Women currently hold 25% of coding jobs and earn 30% less money than men. In most developing countries, more than 65% of women don't have bank accounts and cannot afford to invest in their education. Female refugees also don’t have many opportunities to invest in their education and improve their career horizon - they often work in unskilled, undervalued, and low-paid informal sectors.
SheCodes is here to help provide women in developing countries and women who are refugees with the opportunity to learn how to code for free. SheCodes offers a solid introduction to product development, product design and product management.
I’m excited to present this project we've been thinking about since starting SheCodes.
The aim is to offer SheCodes workshops at no cost to women living in select developing countries who are facing serious financial and educational challenges, along with women who are refugees.
When I started SheCodes, it was a non-profit. During our past onsite workshops, I always mentioned that my ultimate goal for SheCodes was to open a school providing free education. I’m happy to turn this initial idea into a reality.
This is the beginning of something that will hopefully have an impact on many women.
The Foundation will be financed entirely by SheCodes Workshops, 10% of profits will be used to offer support to more women around the world. If you want to contribute, feel free to purchase SheCodes Workshops for yourself, friends, or family members.
SheCodes will remain paid, yet affordable in developed countries so we can keep offering quality training while expanding globally.
Thanks so much for being part of SheCodes. Together, we’re making an impact.
